Last Look 2012

This will probably be my last outfit post for 2012. I am wearing a lot of new stuff but I think the outfit really started with the necklace. I had just got this from MANDALA (cheap, only L$97) and I knew I wanted to show it off. I also wanted to wear other new things like this great mesh blouse from The Secret Store and these mesh patterned leather pants I got on sale (50% off) at GizzA. Since I was showing off so much new stuff I thought I should add some of my relatively recent hunt and gatcha items into the scene.

Holiday House

Hello friends!

Today we are taking you on a tour of our home, at least the winter holiday decor part of it. The showpiece is the beautiful house by Painter Merriman. That man can work magic. We love all his houses but this one may just be Verde's favorite. It makes her want to move to Belgium or at least visit Bruges one day.

Holiday Outfits with Horns

Here I am making good on my promise to post more. I made several Christmas outfits after visiting the Frost Fair with Pie. It was a great fair with lots of new stuff and new-to-me stores. One new store for me was SAKIDE and I bought all  the holiday related items including two of the cool antlers from this post. I don't wear ears, horns, or antlers very often but the just seem so appropriate for the winter holiday. The SAKIDE antlers are so pretty and I love how sparkly the silver ones are. I think this would work for a New Year's celebration as well. In fact, I wore them out dancing at The Velvet last night and felt very festive. Plastik had some very cool holiday ware as well. I love the dresses. I chose this one but I fell in love with all of them. It made me wish the holidays were longer or that I had more parties to attend. Pie got some good stuff so I am poking him to write up his own Frost Fair post. I also want to point out that the shadow on the left photo is an SL shadow. Yes, I have shadows working in Firestorm and I have been playing with them as well as lights and learning gimp to process the photos. It is all a big learning curve but hopefully I can get the process worked out so when I go back to work (next week -sad face) I will still have time to post.

Red and Green says Christmas

This post has several purposes. Most importantly it gets me blogging again. I also started learning Gimp and creating the image in this post gave me something to practice on. And finally, I wanted to show off these cool new purchases from Gizza -- on sale at 50% off.

I love the combination of red and green and since it is just one day after Christmas,  I think it is ok to still wear it. The trousers are so sleek and fit so well. We went out dancing after I took the photos and I just love how mesh clothes move as you dance. The blouse is just so pretty, it captured my eye right away. The flower adds such a vibrant touch. I am loving Dura hair, it is just so cute and natural looking.

Ok, I am off to a good start. I really would love to find some blogging tips to make me more efficient because every post seems to take forever. Maybe as I get more practice ....

Retro Feel

Once in a while I can get a look that draws some responses, well, favorable responses that is! I seem to put together a decent retro look that somehow feels a bit Glam-y. I like the Armidi glasses especially here and named this "British Retro" in my inventory outfits. Don't ask why....it just reminds me of a British look I saw in some bands around early 90's late 80's. The outfit is:

More from Dura-boy

I have been on a Dura-boy run here with my avatar hair for the past three weeks and just keep finding that the hair is quality enough for me to explore colors that I normally do not use. Using different windlight in the new Firestorm download has made taking pictures in the camera mode a real experiment in shades, shadows, and textures. My eye could not settle on what was best but tried to accent the look as best possible.

Chillin Winter style

 I had a chance to run the new Phoenix Firestorm viewer and check the wind-lights and all of the great options for the sl camera. It was an occasion to break out the natural chest hair and the winter coat and get a good high resolution Firestorm close-up.

The hair is Dura-Boy and the necklace is EarthStones. I wore this to the clubs a few times this week with no shame at all, not even the feeling I needed to change my sl clothes!
