Eye on our groups

Pie and I wanted to participate in Berry's group meme this week. We know it was almost a week ago but for some reason this post had taken a while to write. In my case, it inspired a lot of thinking about groups and what they mean to me. Oh, and I finally got to Collabor88 and got some cool stuff. 


1. Have you reached the 42 group limit?   
Pie: Yes. 

Verde: I currently have 41 groups but all this group talk has made me re-evaluate all my groups and the list may look very different in a few weeks ;)

2.  Do you do a lot of group hopping to keep up with all the groups you want to stay a part of? 
Pie: Yes. The only reason I hop groups is because of the freebies. There are groups that have good freebies and if my groups are full I have to rearrange.
Verde: I haven't had to lately. When we just had 20 I was jumping around all the time. I had a few jobs and had to be in groups for my jobs and that didn't leave many slots left. 

3.  What makes you want to join a group? 
Pie: If I know the person or I like the product or I like what the group stands for.

Verde: For stores I usually just join the subscribo group. I join the regular group to become part of a community or if there are some additional benefits to joining the group like interesting or helpful chat.

4. A lot of store VIP groups have a group fee which you have to pay to join. How do you feel about paying group fees? 
Pie: I have limited VIP membership but have joined 3 pay groups out of 42. The amount and quality of the "gift" was worth the Lindens. 

Verde: I have joined on or two but I usually prefer to just buy the products I like. 

5. Name a few groups that you are a part of that you feel everyone should look into joining and share your reasons behind that.
Pie: I belong to quite a few music groups from my friends that are musician and own clubs, the Alternate Music Informer tracks many of the venues where we go to listen to new music and socialize. I belong to quite a few men's fashion stores that I like and would tell anyone to join what you feel you like. Every group I am in I look closely when a new one looks good to join! I tend to leave groups where the IM chat keeps continually blots my screen too!

Verde: My favorite groups are ones that link me to communities that I care about. "Alternative Music Informer" is a great group to find out where great indie music is being played. I came to SL as a library student and still love being part of "Librarians of Second Life." I keep in touch with old friends and learn about library related events. Finally, I love keeping up with art in SL so "SL Art" is an active group with announcements about upcoming gallery openings and other art related events.

In the White Room

Kauna is a great store that never fails with the awesome textured suits. The newest is definitely a no fail! The suit is called Harris Tweed : Plaid Avocado Check and is accessorized with a bow tie, Handkerchief, and pants in various lengths. The suit can also be worn in various stages of being underneath each other to  individual vest, or shirt on top layer. The BEST hit I had there this week was the Wingtip Brogues with color change hud. The detail on the shoes is phenomenal and needed to have its own picture to show the high texture quality and ability to change all areas of the shoe (The picture is my own color scheme). Even the soul can have a more rugged boot type soul or leather soul! LOVE IT!

Breaker Breaker

Thats Rachel Breaker! Rachel Breaker is a creator/designer/builder in SL that has a store at Off the Wall that is something that DR. Seuss himself would have been happy with! In the background you can see the build and how artistic Rachel really is. Rachel is an animator and the Sim has a Simpsonesque quality as I see the use of colors and shapes.This sim makes me very happy when I am there and its is just like I fell into a toybox....and want to play with everything. A gun that shoots and rezzez 1 prim cartoony flowers! I had to have it! Rachel's place has a store with some very creative items you need to see as well! I can't wait to rezz the house I bought from there when I have some time!! Oh yeah the suit is from Legal Insanity and here it is!

Mills Suit

I got this suit at the Menswear Fashion Week in April and have not found the right look or courage to wear it until now. The Shape from JLB is taller and I feel the Gizza suit works. I do not feel this looks like a kilt or a skirt, but its own look. The pants and boots make this happen in my mind and looks fashionable to say the least.

The Wastelands

As I flew around the Wastelands and saw the apocalyptic sim I felt an urge to keep going and exploring. I saw a giant fissure in the ground opening up before me and the detail grabbed me as SL sights often do. Neobokrug Elytis built a great fissure aptly named "The Great Fissure". I had to stop and snap some shots of a new outfit I got at Yasum, some Hair Fair hair I just bought from KMADD, and some other accessories. Here is the shoot.

SecondPride Celebrating June 14-24

Its not too late to lend your support to PR1D3 and celebrate diversity SL style. I showed up today to dance to DJ Regimade (Regi Yifu)and was met by over 69 avatars. Too many to even make my computer see anything but grey avatars!  The music was fun, the atmosphere was very festive and the designers and creators were all set up for vending. I got to shop a bit later and saw a fashion show and have to admit I have a few things to blog about very soon. The outfit I have on here is from 69 Park Ave A nice tank and fashionable boot-shoes, and special Pride hat All made for SLP(The headphones compliments of Regi Yifu).

The Tiger

I found a great line of clothes only available on Marketplace called Phunk. High quality mesh suits and Tuxes, wing-tipped shoes and jackets that have textures that are extremely enjoyable to wear and view. There is a large variety of styles (lots of animal styles, zebra, leopard, lizard, gator) that are fun and the classic black pin-stripes and others that are fashionable as well. The price is right as the suit includes high quality shoes and looks great on the avi! I will be showing off more very soon as I can't be helped and bought a few!! I love this Tiger Tux and had to sport it!

The Big Kauna

I have been doing a lot of formal suit lately but theres a good reason. The mesh designs and textures available from several of the creators ar quite impressive and I find it hard to not put up the Lindens. This suit from Kauna that I got at Mens Department is rich in texture, and has the shading and pieces all in place. The suit adds on by shirt and tie, then pants, then jacket. There is an extra hud for ties and pocket handkerchief (and of course I got it!!). I hope the richness of this suit comes through as firestorm was very kind today.
