DJ Exclusive: Graz Firecaster

Graz Firecaster is...THE SHINING (REDRUM!)

Graz Firecaster is a DJ at AAI. He spins with a type of energy that is more upbeat, maybe punk at times, but definitely with energy and feeling. The energy does come as I catch his sets at AAI in the Afternoons in the US (Graz being in the UK) and it always makes my afternoons "pop" a little bit! Turn up the volume when you go and you won't be let down. Cheers mates!

Are you DJing currently and where?  At AAI Wednesdays 1-3pm SLT

When did you start DJing?  July 2009

First Club?  AAI

Most unusual thing you saw while DJing?  A bloke outside burp so loud he set off a car alarm.. Oh you mean in SL? Well a Linden came to my set dressed as a yeti. He seemed to enjoy it but it must have been hot in that get up.

Favorite music?  Yes indeed, music is my favourite. I don’t mind which genre so long as it has something interesting to say.

Influences?  Everyone who ever write a song that made me want to dance/join a gang/make love/kill. Joe Strummer covered all those bases, as did Polly Harvey, Nick Cave and Paul Weller.

What do you listen to at home?  I have stacks of CDs and vinyl lying around, just whatever suits my mood. At the moment I'm listening to a lot of northern soul, punk and dub reggae. Loving The Milk, Suedehead, The Skints, Black Tamourine and Chvrches right now.

Do you have a regular set you play, a “go to” set?  Yep it's called Jukebox Fury and its a mixture of kick arse tunes, old, new, signed or unsigned. Just so long as it provokes some kind of positive reaction.

When can we hear you DJ usually?  See above.

Cream and sugar or black?  Tea, no sugar, strong enough to stand a spoon up in. Got any custard Creams? Cheers!

Cat or Dog?  Dolphin, more intelligent than a dog and won't crap in your shoes.

If you could take one thing from your inventory for real-life use, what would it be, and why pick it?  My anvil dropper. It would come in very useful to flatten that lanky bloke who always stands in front of me at gigs.

So there you have it! Graz Firecaster, always in good shoes, and always spinning great tunes at AAI.
