DJ Exclusive: Interview with Albert Gainsbourg

Albert Gainsbourg in position at the Velvet

Albert Gainsbourg is the Velvets Octogenarian DJ that sets his DJ table up, and lets it rip! Albert is involved in a host of SL activities that include his leading for "Vitually Speaking". I enjoyed the discussions I have had with him and recently caught him at the velvet for a part of his set..enjoyable indeed! I envite you all to hear his big band sounds. Here is Alberts interview...

Are you DJing currently and where? Velvet, Cafe Wellstone, and background lead in for Virtually Speaking.

When did you start DJing? About 2010; just kind of started to fill in for friends.

First Club? One Eyed Jack.

Most unusual thing you saw while DJing? Hahahah. In Second Life? Maybe a dancing T-Rex or a dancing VW. Probably An "Alien" from the movie and a Cylon dancing is the most unusual.

Favorite music? Big Band and music prior to 1960. Classical prior to about 1900

What do you listen to at home? Big Band and music prior to 1960. Classical prior to about 1900. Really, the same music I stream.

Do you have a regular set you play, a “go to” set? No. Each set is picked individually on a "that's the way I feel" basis. I alter the set based on feed back I get from the audience. Pieces are often added as I notice individuals in the audience.

Usually 1400-1500 SLT with interview following.

Cream and sugar or black? Black

Cat or Dog? Cat (They don't bark and are not obsequious to a fault.)

If you could take one thing from your inventory for real-life use, what would it be, and why pick it? An Alfa Romeo 2300 two-seat roadster. Why? It's an Alfa Romeo 2300 two-seat Roadster. :=))

Thank you Albert for your time and get out to hear the lovely tunes that Albert has in his Vault at the Velvet!
